English Language Trainer

Job Description

As an English Language Trainer, you will be instrumental in shaping the language skills of our learners in Durban. You will design effective lesson plans, provide one-on-one support, and maintain a positive learning environment that encourages student participation and confidence in using English.

Responsibilities

• Create and implement comprehensive lesson plans focusing on grammar, vocabulary, and conversation skills.
• Utilize technology and multimedia tools to enhance the learning experience.
• Evaluate student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
• Organize language workshops and extra-curricular activities to promote language use outside the classroom.
• Provide one-on-one support to students who require additional assistance.
• Foster a culture of respect and inclusivity within the classroom.
• Participate in professional development workshops to enhance teaching skills.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field
• CELTA or equivalent qualification is an advantage

Experience

• 2+ years of relevant teaching experience

Technical Skills

• Interactive Teaching Methods

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

Advantageous

• Background in drama or arts: Experience or qualification in drama education can enhance teaching engagement.
