Job Description

We are searching for a motivated Environmental Impact Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will assess and analyze the environmental impacts of various projects and provide strategic recommendations to optimize sustainability. Ideal candidates will possess a blend of technical and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the potential environmental impact of projects through detailed assessments.
• Liaise with governmental and non-governmental agencies regarding environmental policies.
• Conduct impact analysis and formulate strategies to mitigate negative outcomes.
• Assist in research and development of sustainable technologies.
• Lead environmental compliance audits and assessments.
• Develop training materials to promote environmental awareness among staff.
• Prepare proposals for new projects focusing on sustainability.
• Collaborate on projects aiming at reducing carbon footprint.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related discipline
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting or assessment

Technical Skills

• Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
• Risk Assessment

Soft Skills

• Negotiation
• Teamwork

Certifications

• Green Building Council Certification
• Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic
