Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Insurance Underwriter to analyze and evaluate insurance applications, determining risks and establishing pricing. The ideal candidate will apply their analytical skills and expertise to assess and determine coverage limits, ensuring our clients receive the best protection at a competitive rate.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data and apply statistical methods to evaluate risk.
• Prepare reports detailing underwriting decisions and risk assessments.
• Review claims history to inform future underwriting strategies.
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to ensure policy alignment.
• Contribute to departmental projects and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency.

Requirements

Education

• Professional certification in underwriting (e.g. ACII, CPCU) preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Economics

Experience

• 5+ years of underwriting experience

Certifications

• ACII (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute)

• Experience in claims assessment: Background in handling and assessing insurance claims.
