Job Description

Join our team as a Data Engineer in Bloemfontein, where you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining data infrastructure. The successful applicant will have proficiency in SQL, expertise in data warehousing solutions, and hands-on experience with ETL tools. You will work closely with data scientists and analysts to support data initiatives and implement best practices for data management.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, install, and maintain data pipelines.
• Develop and automate ETL processes for data integration.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity in data warehouses.
• Collaborate with data scientists to improve data models.
• Monitor and optimize performance of data systems.
• Extract, transform, and load data from different sources.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data retrieval.
• Implement data governance standards and practices.
• Document data engineering processes and workflows.
• Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree in Data Science is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in data engineering

Technical Skills

• SQL
• Python
• ETL Tools (e.g., Apache Nifi, Talend)
• Data Warehousing

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous
