Job Description

As a Veterinary Surgeon at Animal Health Services, you will be at the forefront of animal health care in Pietermaritzburg. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine check-ups, performing surgeries, and educating pet owners on proper animal care. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality veterinary services for small and large animals.
  • Assist in the training of new staff members.
  • Develop care plans tailored to each patient.
  • Evaluate health programs and suggest improvements.
  • Counsel pet owners on health and nutrition.
  • Help manage and maintain the veterinary facility.
  • Participate in case management and decision-making.
  • Engage with local animal welfare organizations.
  • Promote pet wellness and preventive care standards.
  • Facilitate follow-up care for surgical patients.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM)
  • Postgraduate qualification is a plus
Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in veterinary practice is required.
