Animal Care Technician

Job Description

As an Animal Care Technician, you will provide compassionate care for animals, assisting in their rehabilitation and well-being. You will be instrumental in monitoring health, providing treatment as directed, and ensuring a safe environment.

Responsibilities

• Attend to the daily needs of animals, ensuring they receive proper nutrition and care.
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of animal enclosures and equipment.
• Observe and report any behavioral or physical abnormalities in animals.
• Support animal handling during treatments, ensuring a calm and soothing environment.
• Develop and implement enrichment activities to enhance animal welfare.
• Maintain supplies and equipment needed for daily operations.
• Promote a culture of safety and respect within the team and towards the animals.
• Assist in community outreach programs to raise awareness about animal welfare.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate in Animal Care or Veterinary Technology
• Diploma in Veterinary Assistance is an advantage

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in animal care or related field
