Veterinary Surgeon

Job Description

We are on the hunt for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in treating a wide variety of animals, from pets to livestock. Our ideal Veterinary Surgeon should possess excellent diagnostic skills, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a genuine passion for animal care.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a variety of animal health issues.
• Perform routine surgical procedures and emergency surgeries.
• Educate pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
• Collaborate with a team of veterinarians and technicians.
• Participate in continuing education to stay current in the field.
• Manage and oversee the use of medical equipment and technologies.
• Assist in training interns and junior veterinarians.
• Conduct post-operative care and follow-up appointments.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations regarding animal welfare.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in veterinary practice
