Underground Mining Machine Operator

Job Description

A Lode Miner is responsible for extracting valuable metals and minerals from underground deposits using specialized equipment and techniques. You will operate drilling and blasting equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency in all mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Drill holes for blasting in collaboration with the blasting crew.
• Assist in developing mine plans and optimizing mining operations.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Complete daily safety inspections and reports.
• Assist with mine development activities, including drilling and blasting.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct equipment checks before and after shifts.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional safety training or certification

Experience

• Experience in operating drilling and blasting equipment

Technical Skills

• Heavy equipment maintenance

Soft Skills

• Teamwork

Advantageous

• Experience in working with precious metals such as gold or platinum: Prior experience handling valuable metals in mining operations.
• Experience in supervisory or management roles in mining operations: Leadership experience within underground mining environments.
