Job Description

Seeking a results-oriented Underwriter for our Pretoria office. You will evaluate insurance applications, analyze risk factors, and collaborate with the sales team to deliver excellent service while adhering to company policies and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate insurance applications and related documentation.
• Determine coverage terms and pricing for policies.
• Collaborate with brokers and clients to discuss insurance needs and options.
• Conduct thorough risk assessments based on statistical data and personal insights.
• Stay updated on industry trends and legislative changes impacting underwriting practices.
• Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and processes.
• Participate in training programs to further develop professional skills.
• Support the sales team by providing underwriting insights during client meetings.
• Review and analyze expired policies to determine renewal terms.
• Prepare reports on underwriting activities and present findings to management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related field
• Professional certification in Underwriting is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience in underwriting or a similar field
