Tax Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Specialist to join our Pretoria office. In this role, you will be responsible for managing tax compliance and advisory services, liaising with clients to ensure they adhere to all tax regulations within South Africa. The ideal candidate should have a comprehensive understanding of tax legislation and a passion for numbers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax planning and advisory for a diverse portfolio of clients.
• Prepare tax provision calculations and ensure proper accounting.
• Represent clients during tax audits and assessments.
• Review tax return submissions for accuracy and compliance.
• Continuously assess tax efficiencies in clients' operations.
• Prepare various tax reports and documentation for clients.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss tax planning opportunities.
• Advise on VAT and other indirect tax matters.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Postgraduate studies in Taxation is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in tax compliance and advisory

• Communication Skills

Certifications

• Tax Technician (SAIT)
• Chartered Accountant (CA) is preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Conversational

• Familiarity with forensic accounting: Experience in forensic accounting methodologies is beneficial.
