Animal Care Technician

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic Animal Care Technician to join our dedicated team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily care of animals, including feeding, grooming, and maintaining a clean environment. Your passion for animal welfare will help ensure that our animals receive the highest standard of care.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinary staff in surgeries and medical procedures.
• Interact with the public to educate them about animal welfare.
• Implement and assist with behavioral training programs.
• Ensure that all equipment used for animal care is properly sanitized.
• Participate in the development of care plans for each animal in the facility.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science or related field

Experience

• At least 2 years of experience in an animal care setting

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of animal behavior: Understanding of animal behavior and training methods.
