IT Security Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled IT Security Specialist to bolster our cybersecurity team in Port Elizabeth. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting the organization’s networks, systems, and sensitive data from cyber threats. You will collaborate with various departments to implement security measures, conduct risk assessments, and respond to incidents. Ideal candidates possess a proactive approach to security and a deep understanding of the latest cybersecurity trends.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute penetration testing exercises to identify system weaknesses.
• Develop incident response procedures and coordinate responses to security incidents.
• Prepare detailed security reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Monitor compliance with security policies and conduct training sessions.
• Research and recommend security tools and practices to protect sensitive data.
• Participate in security-focused projects and initiatives across the organization.
• Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to enhance overall security posture.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Master's degree in Cybersecurity is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in information security
