Job Description

We are seeking an Insurance Underwriter to join our vibrant team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a knack for evaluating risks and determining coverage terms for various insurance products.

Responsibilities

• Review applications, determine eligibility and coverage terms.
• Conduct risk analysis and develop risk profiles.
• Maintain relationships with brokers and agents.
• Implement underwriting policies and procedures.
• Stay updated on industry trends and competitor offerings.
• Participate in risk assessment meetings and strategy sessions.
• Analyze and make decisions on complex insurance cases.
• Support claims investigations as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Economics, or related field

Experience

• 4+ years in underwriting with a focus on commercial lines

Technical Skills

• Underwriting Software Familiarity
• Financial Acumen

• Analytical Skills

Certifications

• FCII (Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute)
• Certified Insurance Underwriter (CIU)

Languages

• English: Fluent
