As an Insurance Underwriter, you will play a crucial role in our Pretoria office, assessing risks associated with insurance policies. We expect you to have strong problem-solving skills and a comprehensive knowledge of underwriting principles to protect our clients and company.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough background checks and gather necessary documentation for underwriting.
• Utilize underwriting software to analyze financial and risk data.
• Participate in client meetings to discuss insurance coverage and policy modifications.
• Act as a liaison between clients and claims departments to facilitate smooth processing.
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients by addressing underwriting inquiries.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
• Relevant certification in insurance underwriting is a strong advantage

Experience

• 4-6 years of experience in insurance underwriting

• Data Management

• Negotiation Skills

Certifications

• Insurance Institute of South Africa (IISA) certification is preferred
• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)

Languages

• English: Fluent
