Job Description

As a Medical Appliance Technician at Compassionate Prosthetics, you will be responsible for creating custom prosthetic eyes tailored to the needs of each client. Your artistic skills and technical expertise will play a crucial role in enhancing the lives of those who have lost an eye due to injury or illness.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate high-quality, custom prosthetic eyes for clients.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to address patient-specific requirements.
• Perform routine quality checks to ensure all prosthetics meet industry standards.
• Educate clients on proper maintenance and care for their prosthetic eyes.
• Work closely with the production manager to ensure timely delivery of products.
• Assist in training new staff on best practices and techniques.
• Monitor inventory of materials and supplies needed for fabrication.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
• Attend workshops and seminars related to advancements in prosthetics.
• Contribute to a positive team environment through collaboration and support.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Relevant technical qualification preferred

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in healthcare or medical devices

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of medical devices
• Proficient with fabrication tools

Soft Skills

• Time management skills
• Ability to work well under pressure

Languages

• English: Fluent
• isiXhosa: Basic
