Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. The LPN will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to pediatric patients under the supervision of a registered nurse or physician, ensuring their overall well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to determine the health needs of pediatric patients.
  • Administer treatments and medications as per physician directives.
  • Monitor patient progress and report changes to the supervising nurse.
  • Assist in coordinating the care of pediatric patients with the healthcare team.
  • Educate families on health management and wellness for their children.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Engage in continuous education and training to enhance skills.
  • Collaborate on care plans with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Document all nursing interventions in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Support families during hospital stays with compassion and understanding.

Requirements

Education
  • Valid license as a Pediatric Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in South Africa
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of an accredited practical nursing program
Experience
  • Experience working with pediatric patients with complex medical conditions preferred.
