Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our Pretoria office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assessing and analyzing risks to determine the insurability of clients. This role requires a solid understanding of underwriting principles and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information and loss history to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Work with claims adjusters to facilitate coverage assessments.
• Identify potential areas for improvement in underwriting processes.
• Provide training and mentorship to new underwriting staff.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic planning.
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to underwriting.
• Engage in continuous learning to enhance underwriting expertise.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry

• Associate in Underwriting (AU)
