Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a proactive Civil Engineer who is passionate about enhancing infrastructure in Port Elizabeth. Your role will encompass design, site management, and liaising with contractors to garanti quality in all phases of implementation. Ideal candidates should be adept at problem-solving and have a strong foundation in engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes and define deliverables in collaboration with the engineering team.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, providing support and direction.
• Oversee the rehabilitation and maintenance of existing infrastructure.
• Integrate environmental considerations into project designs.
• Prepare bids and proposals for new engineering projects.
• Carry out technical supervision of site activities to ensure adherence to specifications.
• Engage with community members to address concerns and feedback.
• Assist in managing project budgets, analyzing expenses, and recognizing cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare concise project reports for senior management.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, especially in large-scale projects

• Microsoft Office Suite
• Geotechnical Engineering

Certifications

• Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages
