Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of various structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering principles and practices, with a passion for delivering innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze building structures to ensure safety and stability.
• Prepare detailed drawings and specifications using software like AutoCAD.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise construction work.
• Work collaboratively with architects and other engineers to develop project plans.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes and safety standards.
• Manage project timelines and budgets while maintaining high-quality outputs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Master's degree in structural specialties is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in high-rise and large structures

Technical Skills

• SAP2000
• Reinforced Concrete Design

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CE) status
• Civil Engineering Technician (CET)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with BIM software: Hands-on experience with Building Information Modelling software like Revit.
• Knowledge of green building standards: Understanding of sustainable building practices and compliance.
