Job Description

We are seeking an Insurance Underwriter who is detail-oriented and analytical to join our team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will assess and evaluate insurance applications, determine policy terms, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments and produce risk evaluation reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative insurance products.
• Negotiate with clients regarding insurance terms and pricing.
• Conduct market research to identify and analyze competitor offerings.
• Utilize underwriting software and tools to streamline processes and improve accuracy.
• Monitor compliance with internal and external underwriting standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field

Experience

• 5 years of experience in underwriting with a focus on commercial insurance

• Risk Management Software Proficiency

Certifications

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute (FII)

Languages

• English: Fluent
