Job Description

We are seeking an Insurance Underwriter who is detail-oriented and analytical to join our team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will assess and evaluate insurance applications, determine policy terms, and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze insurance applications to assess risk and determine coverage.
• Consult with clients to understand their insurance needs and provide tailored solutions.
• Review policies and recommend changes to improve coverage or reduce risk.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations.
• Collaborate with agents and brokers to develop strong relationships and facilitate communication.
• Monitor industry trends and keep abreast of emerging risks to inform underwriting practices.
• Prepare reports and documentation related to underwriting decisions and policies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or related field

Experience

• 5 years of experience in underwriting with a focus on commercial insurance

• Risk Management Software Proficiency
• Financial Acumen

Certifications

• Fellow of the Insurance Institute (FII)

Languages

• English: Fluent
