Insurance Underwriter

Job Description

Looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you'll assess insurance applications, analyze risks, and determine suitable coverage. Candidates should have experience in underwriting and excellent interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with clients and agents.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments based on data analytics and market trends.
• Liaise with the actuarial team for accurate pricing of insurance policies.
• Participate in audits of underwriting files and processes.
• Develop and present training materials for team skill enhancement.
• Assist in managing existing client relationships through regular follow-ups.
• Evaluate reinsurance options to mitigate risk.
• Contribute to the development of underwriting guidelines and strategies.
• Maintain a keen understanding of client needs to tailor policies accordingly.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, or similar field
• Postgraduate qualification is an advantage

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in the insurance industry, preferably in underwriting

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Underwriter (CIU)

Languages

• English: Fluent
