Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Choreographer to join our team at Dance Academy. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and teaching innovative dances across various styles, from ballet to hip-hop. If you have a flair for choreography and love to inspire students, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Instruct dance classes and individual lessons with a focus on technique.
• Foster a culture of creativity and self-expression in students.
• Actively engage in the dance community and promote our programs.
• Assess performance readiness and make recommendations for improvements.
• Prepare students for competitions and showcase events.
• Document student progress and maintain accurate records.
• Facilitate workshops and community outreach programs.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Arts or Performing Arts area is ideal

Experience

• At least 5 years of professional dance experience

Technical Skills

• Performance Arts
• Classroom Management

Soft Skills

Certifications

• Professional Development in Dance Education

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Fluent

Advantageous

• Ability to work with children and diverse age groups: Experience interacting with children and young adults in a teaching capacity.
• Understanding of Dance Therapy: Knowledge of using dance as a therapeutic tool.
