Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our growing team in Durban. In this position, you'll support patients in managing their mental health conditions, work closely with families, and implement therapeutic interventions. A strong commitment to patient advocacy and mental health awareness is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and develop personalized care strategies.
• Facilitate therapeutic activities and programs.
• Monitor and document patient progress and treatment outcomes.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and their families regarding mental health therapies.
• Conduct outreach and community education sessions.
• Advocate for patients' rights and work towards their best interests.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Master's degree in Mental Health Nursing is an advantage

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mental health or psychiatric hospitals

Certifications

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• Mental Health First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems: Experience with managing patient information using EHR systems.
