Hydrologist

Job Description

The Hydrologist will be responsible for managing and monitoring groundwater resources, conducting hydrogeological studies, and providing expert advice to a variety of stakeholders. Join our dedicated team to make a significant impact in the field of water resource management.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive studies on groundwater dynamics and resource availability.
• Monitor and analyze data from groundwater instruments and assess implications.
• Provide recommendations based on research findings to improve water management.
• Collaborate with environmental scientists on projects addressing water quality issues.
• Engage in stakeholder meetings to discuss water management objectives and progress.
• Publish research findings in relevant scientific journals and contribute to knowledge dissemination.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field
• Master's degree is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in groundwater management and hydrology

Technical Skills

• Hydrological Modeling Software
• Statistical Analysis

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Water Institute of South Africa (WISA) certification (preferred)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Fluency in an African language: Preference will be given to candidates who can communicate in local languages.
