Clinical Psychologist

Job Description

We're seeking a Clinical Psychologist in Cape Town to provide psychological assessments and therapy. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of various therapeutic models and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer psychological tests and interpret results.
• Facilitate therapy sessions using various modalities.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
• Engage in community outreach and education initiatives.
• Advocate for clients' rights and needs.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to interns or junior staff.
• Conduct workshops and training on mental health topics.
• Document all client interactions and treatment plans.

Requirements

Education

• Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD or PhD)
• Specialization in Clinical Psychology is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in clinical settings

Technical Skills

• Trauma-Informed Care
• Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Soft Skills

• Critical Thinking
• Teamwork

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Training in dialectical behavior therapy (DBT): Training in DBT techniques for managing emotional regulation.
• Experience with teletherapy platforms: Familiarity with providing therapy through telehealth channels.
