Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join our team in Bloemfontein. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles and experience in managing projects from conception to completion. This position involves working closely with clients, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Engage with stakeholders to gather project requirements.
• Perform calculations and analysis for project designs.
• Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors for project execution.
• Ensure all work is completed according to quality standards.
• Analyse project performance and implement improvements.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and interns.
• Prepare project documentation for submission to regulatory bodies.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Professional registration with ECSA is strongly preferred

Experience

• 5-7 years of experience in civil engineering projects

• Civil 3D
• Geotechnical Analysis

• Analytical Thinking
• Negotiation

Certifications

• ECSA Certified Engineer

Languages

• English: Fluent
• IsiZulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of South African building regulations: Familiarity with local building codes and regulations is a plus.
• Experience in land development projects: Hands-on experience in managing land development initiatives.
