Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and overseeing construction projects while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will work on various infrastructure projects, contributing to the development of sustainable solutions that meet community needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design phase of various civil engineering projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure all aspects of a project are aligned.
• Monitor construction progress and assist in resolving any onsite issues.
• Conduct materials testing and analysis to ensure quality.
• Assist with budget planning and resource allocation.
• Document project progress and prepare presentations for stakeholders.
• Foster relationships with local authorities and stakeholders.
• Support business development efforts through proposal preparation.
• Ensure adherence to sustainability practices in engineering solutions.
• Participate in community engagement activities related to projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in civil engineering

Technical Skills

• Civil 3D
• Cost Estimation

Soft Skills

• Negotiation Skills
• Time Management

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Basic

Advantageous

• Knowledge of local building codes and regulations: Familiarity with Gauteng municipal codes and standards.
• Experience in urban development projects: Hands-on experience with urban infrastructure projects.
