We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic Cape Town team. The right candidate will evaluate risks and exposures of potential clients, ensuring that insurance policies are tailored to meet their needs. This role requires a keen analytical mind, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to make sound judgments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk analysis for new and existing clients.
• Formulate and revise insurance policies to protect clients effectively.
• Collaborate with teams to support clients throughout the underwriting process.
• Utilize software tools to streamline underwriting tasks and ensure data accuracy.
• Evaluate claims for legitimacy and compliance with policy rules.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior underwriters.
• Participate in industry events to stay updated on trends and regulations.
• Report underwriting metrics to management for ongoing performance evaluations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or relevant discipline
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 4-6 years of insurance underwriting experience

Certifications

• Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC)
• Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS)
