Pharmacist

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Pharmacist in Durban to assist our customers with their healthcare needs. You will manage medication distribution, counsel patients on their medications, and work alongside other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions.
• Counsel patients about side effects, drug interactions, and health management.
• Conduct regular inventory checks to manage stock effectively.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and standards.
• Assist in training pharmacy staff and interns.
• Provide health consultations, focusing on medication therapy management.
• Develop relationships with patients and the community for better health outcomes.
• Utilize electronic pharmacy systems for managing prescriptions.
• Participate in health awareness programs and community outreach.
• Mentor junior pharmacists and pharmacy assistants.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council

Experience

• 2+ years of experience as a pharmacist.

• Pharmaceutical knowledge

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Knowledge of herbal medications: Ability to advise on the use of herbal supplements and their interactions with pharmaceutical drugs.
