Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Durban. In this role, you will assess and evaluate risks associated with insurance applications, ensuring that our clients receive the best possible coverage while maintaining the company's profitability. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills and a thorough understanding of underwriting principles.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze data from various sources to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with agents and clients.
• Interface with claims and risk management teams to address issues.
• Participate in seminars and workshops to enhance industry knowledge.
• Support ongoing development of underwriting policies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science or related field
• Additional certifications in underwriting are an advantage

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in insurance underwriting

Certifications

• Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI)
• Insurance Regulatory Compliance Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
