Job Description

As a Mental Health Professional (Psychologist), you will provide essential psychological services in Cape Town. The role includes conducting assessments, providing therapy, and collaborating with other health professionals to ensure comprehensive care tailored to each client’s needs.

Responsibilities

  • Offer therapeutic support to diverse client populations.
  • Evaluate and interpret cognitive assessments.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care.
  • Advise on mental health education for clients and families.
  • Utilize therapeutic modalities as appropriate for clients.
  • Advocate for clients within the community.
  • Conduct follow-up assessments to monitor client progress.
  • Incorporate cultural sensitivity into therapeutic practices.
  • Keep up with continued education requirements for licensure.
  • Participate in peer reviews and supervision meetings.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Psychology
  • Registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a psychologist
Experience
  • 2+ years of clinical experience in a mental health setting
