Civil Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to join our team in Pretoria. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures and infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and water supply systems. You will work closely with a diverse team to deliver projects that meet both client expectations and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop project designs using CAD software and detailed drawings.
• Evaluate existing infrastructure and provide recommendations.
• Coordinate with local governmental agencies for permits and regulations.
• Review and approve contractor work based on project specifications.
• Assess resources required for project completion.
• Facilitate team meetings and maintain effective communication.
• Document project processes and results.
• Test materials and conduct quality checks.
• Contribute to health and safety planning.
• Assist in the preparation of funding proposals for projects.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering

• AutoCAD
• MATLAB
• SAP2000

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Afrikaans: Intermediate
