Environmental Scientist

Job Description

Join us as an Environmental Scientist to help us drive ecological projects and sustainability efforts in Port Elizabeth. As part of our team, you will work on field studies, data analysis, and environmental reports. Your insights will guide our practices in resource management and environmental protection.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor environmental management systems.
• Perform field work including sampling and data collection in various environments.
• Assist in the preparation of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
• Coordinate with other team members to ensure project goals are met.
• Provide environmental training to staff and stakeholders.
• Identify potential environmental hazards and propose mitigation strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology or related field

Experience

• 2-4 years of experience in environmental research or management

Technical Skills

• Field Sampling Techniques

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with GIS software: Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for environmental mapping.
• Familiarity with sustainability practices: Understanding of sustainable practices in various industries.
