Job Description

Chemical Solutions Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated Chemical Engineer to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and optimizing chemical processes for product improvement and sustainability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and engineering principles, with practical experience in a chemical production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead chemical process design and optimization initiatives.
• Perform quantitative analysis for process improvements.
• Develop and validate process parameters to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Collaborate with R&D to develop new products.
• Support production teams in maintaining optimal operations.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Document all process designs and modifications.
• Participate in quality assurance and compliance audits.
• Assist in the development of safety protocols.
• Liaise with suppliers to source necessary materials and equipment.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
• Professional registration (or equivalent) is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years in chemical manufacturing or related field

Technical Skills

• Chemical Process Modelling

Soft Skills

• Communication Skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Proficiency in simulation software (Aspen Plus, HYSYS): Experience using software for process modeling and optimization.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards: Experience with compliance standards relevant to the chemical industry.
