Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to assess and manage risks associated with insurance policies. In this role, you will evaluate applications, determine coverage terms, and collaborate with agents to deliver optimal insurance solutions. Your analytical skills and judgment will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of our underwriting process.

Responsibilities

  • Assess risk factors and determine appropriate coverage for clients.
  • Work with the sales team to strategize on policy placements.
  • Serve as a point of contact for clients with underwriting questions.
  • Utilize underwriting software to manage applications efficiently.
  • Ensure documentation is complete and accurate in compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss underwriting strategies.
  • Contribute to process improvements within the underwriting department.
  • Review technical aspects of policies for any discrepancies.
  • Evaluate new products and participate in policy improvements.
  • Support claims department with complex underwriting queries.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, or equivalent
  • Postgraduate qualification in Risk Management is preferred.
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in the insurance industry with a focus on underwriting
