Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Urban Project Manager to join our team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in urban planning and project management, driving projects from conception to completion. You will collaborate closely with government bodies, stakeholders, and community members to ensure our urban developments meet city standards and community needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple urban planning projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgets.
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to align project goals.
  • Monitor work quality to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Advocate for community-centered design principles in all projects.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Evaluate and report on project outcomes and suggest improvements.
  • Stay informed on best practices in urban development and planning.
  • Mentor junior staff within the project team.
  • Assist in grant writing and funding applications for urban projects.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Town Planning or related fields
  • Master's degree in Urban Development is an asset
