We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our energetic team in Midrand. The ideal candidate will assess insurance applications, evaluate risks, and determine policy terms and premiums that meet client needs while safeguarding the company’s interests.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough risk assessments for various insurance applications.
• Formulate and recommend policy terms based on data analysis and risk metrics.
• Actively engage with agents to develop competitive insurance products.
• Ensure the timely processing of applications and renewals.
• Prepare detailed underwriting reports for assessment by management.
• Participate in continuous professional development to enhance underwriting skills.
• Assist in training junior underwriters and providing mentorship.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Economics or a related field
• Further qualifications in risk management are an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in underwriting, claims, or a relevant field
