We are currently seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our dynamic team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of underwriting principles within the insurance field, combined with excellent analytical and communication skills. You will evaluate risks and coverage options, ensuring that we provide competitive quotes and satisfying policies for our clients.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret policy guidelines to make informed underwriting decisions.
• Perform regular audits of new and existing policies to ensure thoroughness.
• Collaborate on marketing initiatives to help promote new products.
• Conduct risk assessments and generate pricing models for insurance policies.
• Serve as a point of contact for queries related to underwriting.
• Review claims to identify risk indicators and potential areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with actuarial experts to calibrate underwriting strategies.
• Assist in the development of strong client underwriting relations.
• Train new team members on underwriting protocols and best practices.
• Utilize underwriting software to enhance the efficiency of assessments.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline
• Master's degree in a related field is advantageous

Experience

• 4+ years of professional experience in underwriting or risk analysis
