Job Description

We are in search of an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Pietermaritzburg. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing electrical systems and ensuring compliance with industry standards. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects that span residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project requirements and develop electrical solutions.
• Coordinate with contractors and suppliers for project materials.
• Supervise the installation of electrical systems.
• Conduct regular inspections and safety audits.
• Enhance electrical designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare engineering reports and project documentation.
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff.
• Lead project meetings and communicate updates effectively.
• Implement best practices in electrical design and installation.
• Evaluate and select appropriate electrical equipment and technologies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• Master's degree is a plus

Experience

• 7+ years of experience in the electrical engineering sector

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Renewable Energy Systems

Soft Skills

• Communication Skills
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
• Registered Engineer in South Africa

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Hands-on Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues on-site.
