Epidemiologist

Job Description

We are looking for an Epidemiologist with a strong background in public health to contribute to our research efforts and implement health programs that address the needs of the community.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field research to collect data on health behaviors and outcomes.
• Provide expertise in data interpretation to inform health policy decisions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure successful project implementation.
• Engage with community partners to facilitate health education initiatives.
• Present findings at conferences and community meetings.

Requirements

Education

• Master's in Public Health or a related field
• PhD in Epidemiology preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in public health roles particularly in research

Technical Skills

• Epidemiological Modelling
• Data Management

Soft Skills

• Project Management
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Certified Public Health (CPH)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Xhosa: Intermediate

Advantageous

• Experience with Community Outreach: Experience engaging with communities for public health initiatives.
• Data Visualization Skills: Strong ability to present data visually for stakeholder presentations.
