Job Description

We're looking for a passionate Forestry Scientist to lead research initiatives that assess the ecological impacts of forestry practices, develop sustainable management strategies, and contribute to community outreach and education programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead research initiatives in assessing forest ecosystems and their management.
• Utilize GIS and remote sensing tools to evaluate forest conditions.
• Engage with communities for collaborative conservation efforts.
• Document and publish findings in scientific journals.
• Elevate awareness on the importance of sustainable forestry practices.
• Develop and implement training programs for forestry technicians.
• Facilitate workshops and seminars for knowledge sharing.
• Conduct impact assessments for proposed forestry projects.
• Analyze data from ecological modeling to inform decision-making.
• Advocate for policy changes that promote sustainable forest management.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Forestry Science is advantageous

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in forestry research or related field
