Job Description

We seek a skilled Woodworking Machine Setter, Operator, or Tender to be part of our creative team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with woodworking machinery and a passion for precision and detail. Your responsibilities will include operating machinery, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and calibrate woodworking machines for various tasks.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical issues with the machinery.
• Conduct quality checks and adjustments on finished products.
• Assist in the design and production of custom furniture and fixtures.
• Maintain logs of machine usage and downtime.
• Work with management to improve production processes and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Provide training and guidance to new employees.
• Engage in continuous learning about woodworking techniques and industry trends.

Requirements

Education

• NQF Level 4 or higher in Woodworking or Manufacturing
• Formal apprenticeship in carpentry is highly regarded

Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in woodworking
