Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are on the lookout for a talented Structural Engineer to enhance our Pretoria team. This role requires a strong foundation in designing and analysing structures, with the ability to oversee project execution from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve design proposals and drawings.
• Ensure that all structural designs are compliant with local building codes.
• Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects.
• Lead project meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
• Implement sustainable practices in design and construction.
• Assist in project financial management and reporting.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the field

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Revit

Soft Skills

• Attention to Detail
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional
• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
• Zulu: Conversational

Advantageous

• Knowledge of seismic design principles: Experience in designing structures for seismic resilience.
• Proficiency in advanced modelling software: Experience with software like SAP2000 or ETABS.
