Accountant

Job Description

Join our team as an Accountant in Johannesburg. In this role, you will manage the full spectrum of financial accounting, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and play a pivotal role in assuring compliance with statutory requirements. We look for candidates who are proactive, detail-focused, and possess a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports and balance sheets.
• Monitor financial performance by measuring and analyzing results.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and local tax legislation.
• Conduct cost analysis to support ongoing financial management.
• Engage in payroll processing and ensure correct tax calculations.
• Assist in developing internal controls for safeguarding financial assets.
• Collaborate with management to improve financial performance.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for stakeholders.
• Implement technological solutions for improved financial tracking.
• Review financial operations and recommend improvements where necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA or equivalent qualification is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles
