Job Description

We are seeking Machine Feeders and Offbearers to join our dynamic team in Durban. This role involves manually managing the flow of green lumber along conveyor systems, sorting by grade and size, and ensuring quality standards are met. Applicants should be prepared for a physically demanding work environment.

Responsibilities

• Handle lumber products and manage their flow on the production line.
• Ensure proper sorting and grading of lumber for shipment.
• Assist the maintenance team in keeping equipment operational.
• Follow all safety measures and report safety concerns.
• Participate in daily operations meetings for effective workflow.
• Stack lumber efficiently to prevent damage.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Provide support during inspections or audits.
• Assist in training new team members on procedures and safety.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 10 certificate
• Previous experience in manufacturing is advantageous

Experience

• Experience with lumber handling preferred

Technical Skills

• Good hand-eye coordination
• Ability to follow instructions

• Problem-solving
• Work ethic

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous experience using conveyor systems: Understanding of conveyor belt operations and maintenance.
