Job Description

The Adult Basic Education Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of adult education programs. This includes curriculum development, teacher training, and providing ongoing support to students.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of adult literacy, numeracy, and skills programs.
  • Facilitate recruitment and training of a diverse teaching staff understood to meet community needs.
  • Monitor and report on the curriculum's effectiveness and adjust as required.
  • Ensure support services are in place for adult learners, offering guidance when needed.
  • Assess program results and implement necessary adjustments for performance enhancement.
  • Establish budget and funding opportunities for program sustainability.
  • Collaborate across departments to promote program integration with community objectives.
  • Foster collaborations with other stakeholders to enhance educational opportunities.
  • Remain informed on new teaching methodologies and community education trends.
  • Host community engagement sessions to promote educational initiatives.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field
  • Master's degree preferred but not mandatory
Experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in adult education and program oversight.
