Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team in East London. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with clients to assess their mental health needs and provide tailored counseling services. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on individuals struggling with mental health challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform psychological assessments and evaluations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
  • Facilitate client referrals to other services as needed.
  • Engage clients in developing effective coping strategies.
  • Provide psychoeducation to clients and families.
  • Lead workshops on mental health topics in the community.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards in practice.
  • Participate in research initiatives to contribute to the mental health field.
  • Advise on policy development within the organization.
  • Stay informed about local mental health resources and services.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Psychology or Social Work
  • Experience with trauma-informed care is desirable
