Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join our vibrant team in Durban. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal welfare and possess strong surgical and diagnostic skills. You will be responsible for providing top-notch care to a variety of animals, from household pets to exotic animals, ensuring their health and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine vet procedures including vaccinations, diagnostics, and treatments.
  • Deliver excellent clinical care and support to animals under your supervision.
  • Manage caseload effectively to ensure timely treatment.
  • Assist in surgical operations as needed, ensuring high standards of care.
  • Communicate effectively with pet owners about animal health concerns.
  • Involve in staff training and mentorship.
  • Participate in the development of team protocols and procedures.
  • Oversee the health and safety of facilities and animal utilities.
  • Engage in continuous professional development opportunities.
  • Review and update veterinary techniques and practices regularly.

Requirements

Education
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)
  • Specialization in surgery or internal medicine is preferred
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in a veterinary role, with a focus on surgery or critical care.
