Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Environmental Scientist to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting environmental assessments, analysing data, and developing sustainability strategies. You'll play a vital role in safeguarding our natural resources while supporting various projects across the region.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement monitoring programs for ecological assessments.
• Conduct soil, water, and air quality testing and analysis.
• Work with engineers and planners to integrate sustainable practices.
• Train and mentor junior staff on environmental protocols.
• Facilitate workshops and presentations on environmental issues.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of environmental programs.
• Maintain accurate records and databases related to environmental projects.
• Assist in responding to environmental incidents and emergencies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related field
• Postgraduate qualifications preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in environmental management or consulting

Technical Skills

• GIS Software Proficiency

• Negotiation

Certifications

• Lead Auditor in Environmental Management Systems
• Certified Sustainability Professional (CSP)

Languages

• English: Fluent
