Environmental Engineer

Job Description

Green Solutions Ltd. is looking for a dedicated Environmental Engineer to join our Johannesburg team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental science and engineering, and be passionate about developing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental impact assessments for new projects.
• Design innovative solutions to address environmental challenges.
• Collaborate with engineers to create sustainable project designs.
• Conduct field investigations and gather data on environmental conditions.
• Prepare and present findings to stakeholders and the community.
• Ensure all projects comply with local and national environmental laws.
• Research and apply best practices in environmental engineering.
• Assist in the development of environmental policy recommendations.
• Engage with the community to promote environmental awareness.
• Train team members on environmental compliance and sustainability practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field
• Master's degree in Environmental Engineering is preferred

Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Technical Skills

• GIS
• Sustainability Practices

Certifications

• LEED Accredited Professional

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous experience in consulting: Experience in an environmental consulting role will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with climate change policies: An understanding of local and international climate change policies is beneficial.
